Waking up from a stupor of sorts
Hey friends,
It’s been a while since I posted. I’ve been busy settling into our now full-time home in Portland and adjusting to the new daily pattern that is blessedly commute free.
What I’ve discovered is that a new home and a change to routine can wake you up. I’ve been happily exploring my photography and reacquainting myself with the bass guitar after a very long hiatus. I find these two activities feed each other and encourage me to increase my skills in both areas.
I’ve been lucky enough to take part in a small art exhibit organized by students at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, with the work being shown at the Harlow Hotel. All because I met a neighbor and had a conversation. It’s a good thing that people talk to each other in Portland. Check out the Untitl3d Coll3ctive for more information.
I also took part in the School of Rock performance in January. And yes, it was as much fun as one can imagine. Please excuse all the flubs.
So, as someone said to me recently, I’m living my best life.
Anyway, I’m not sharing all this to brag about how lucky I am. I want to encourage you to think about breaking out of your routine. (Unless you love your routine, of course. I’m not here to judge.)
If I can find a new energy and spirit at the age of 63, then anyone can.
And now, a few of my recent photos. Take care, all.
